Dumb teachers in m'sia?

Msian Star newspaper writes this "Teachers going mad teaching subjects in English" WHAT?!?! Get a life,man! Mathematics and Science in English has been taught for the 7th year adi la...i even graduated from studying Maths and Sciences in English and teachers still have problems teaching them? We have to learn different topics every year while teachers teach the same topics every year. After 6 years, they still suck at it? Come la, teachers who still cant teach in
English..jus admit that u're dumb,k? English aint a foreign language to M'sian,k? We have been learning it since kindagarden la. What's wrong with studying Maths and Science in English den? The theory is still the same..jus in a different language! Isn't this better? M'sian can be fluent in both BM and English language since it's a must to pass BM in any exams?

Ok, i m done with that topic. Wanna know how was my first week in uni?Erm, i just didnt really lik the feeling for being in extremely large classes. I have a human bio lecture where there are 678 students who enrol for that particular unit.From 15-24 students per class to 600+?wow! haha. I only expected one lecture to be more den a hundred but it turned out 6 times more.haha. Good news is there will be no chem tutorials and chem labs start in week5. That's means for this sem, the lastest i finish class is at 3pm. Btw, i start at 8am mon-thurs. Suck,right? i have pull myself out of bed at 7am each day. Ok, i dun wanna complain too much bcos i live 5 minutes away from uni. Don even try to imagine living an one hour away from uni. My totur in human bio suck a little bcos she talks crap more than wat she has to do to guide us through our studies. Hope, she will better next week. Today, its the 4th day of uni and i start to see empty seats in lecture halls. Wow, already slacking on the 4th day of uni? Cool! haha.

If u havent tried wendy's milkshake before, go now! It's damn delicious especially for a person lik me who loves milk and ice cream. I'm going to have another one soon! hehe. Its quite filling though. Just lik eating a meal. I drank flakes shake and nigel drank chocolate mint. No offense but i hate chocolate mint! but nigel loves it. haha

Friday was O-Day! O-day was a day where all the clubs and socities put up a stall in uni. And all the new students lik me will sign up in watever club they are interested in. I onli joined the Science Union and International Student Service. There is a club perfect for nigel if he is in uwa- Sausage and Bun Appreciation Socitey (SABAS). haha. What kinda club is this? Eat sausage sizzle everyday? haha..I got lots of free stuff during O-Day.hehe. My favourite was cheese toast from sizzler! Sorry, it was too delicious. I ate it before i could take a picture of it. haha

We had steamboat for brunch yesterday morning. We werent celebrating anything but just felt lik eating it. haha. I had 4 rounds. haha. yeah. fat! It was delicious though..

Fishball,cheeseball,mushroom,meat dumpling, vege, bihoon, prawn, eggs and beef slices in tomyam soup. After reading this, do you need a tissue to wipe off ur saliva?haha..

In the afternoon, i had a miscal from Amelia. She called and asked me whether i was free at night. Cos they were heading off to burswood for a movie and asked if i would lik to join them. Since, sis was working and she had already watched the movie. i went alone. Gathered in uni at 6. Waited til everybody arrived and we left for the movies. When we reached, there were ltos of ppl there already. Met lots of ppl but unfortunately i cant remember all their names. Too many for me to absorb in a night. haha. We watched Slumdog Millionaire. it was quite a nice movie and i enjoyed it =) My first outdoor movie. hehe. it was quite warm at first but at the end of the movie there were some cold breezes. Since it was outdoor, we laid down on mats and hug a pillow =)

Today, in church, our senior pastor (Ps. Benny) preached about robust faith. And he asked all of us to write down " Jesus, i will never quit" in our bible and sign below it. Have faith in Jesus then nothing is impossible =) After church, we went to harbourtown for shopping. hehe. Yeah, i broke my promise of not shopping but i needed to get new thongs. My thongs was freaking big and it wasnt comfortable wearing it. On my way to harbourtown, i saw a supercool public toilet. Its kinda electronic. There is a sign in the middle telling you whether its vacant or occupied. I dunno whether i m ulu or wat but i have never seen a public toilet lik tt lo.hehe.

First day of O-week

Today was first day of O-week in Uwa. Our international one started last week but this is the official orientation where all the international and local students come together. Guild had the Big Breakfast thingy where they served us pancakes with maple syrup =). It tastes ok..but my sticked to the paper so i had to tear one layer off. I met up with Ju, Brenda and li wei in front of the famous clock tower. They were there waiting for jer, but she came late. I had to go home and change and shorts bcos i had itches all around my legs. Mossies stay away from me, pls? Anyway, at 945 students from sciences faculty were suppose to gather at the murdoch lecture hall. There, i saw sophia. Later we met up wf brenda and went into the lecture hall and WOW! there is so many ppl until the lecture hall was sooo packed until so ppl had to stand outside and listen to the lady who was talking. haha. It was kinda a activity where we divided into groups of 10 and we were given clues and had to answer all the questions on the paper. It was kinda fun despites of the hot weather. We had to walk from one building to another to get the answers. This is our passport and each of us had a boarding pass.We didnt passed through the next round becos we didnt finished in time. Nah, it didnt matter. At least, i didnt waste my time at home rotting..haha! After the O-quest, guild serve us sausage sizzle. Aussie's favourite! I m tired now! yawn............

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

Before i start, there's a little something i wanna share with u guys that touched my hearts=)Last Friday, i went to the city wf my sis to get her bf a valentine's gift. On the way to Myers, there were 6 little children,all under 12 (i think). They were being buskets, to raise money to buy new voilins for themselves. Aw, aint that cute =D.. the little ones were a bit shy bcos after playing for a while their ran back to their daddy who was sitting nearby. Brave young ones who stood in the crowd and played lovely songs. By this, we could see how generous Australians are =)

Ok! Now skipping to what happen on valentine's day. As you guys know i m single for now, so there's aint anyone special who i could celebrate it with. However, it's fine with me cos in my 3 year relationship with the idiot, we only celebrated it once. So i wasnt really a big thing for me. Valentine's day is showing how much you love someone right? I believed that we dont only love our boyfriends..am i right? There are really good frens that i would lik to spend my valentine's day together too=) Well, i have a memorable Valentine's day with 2 of my best buddies 2yrs ago. Thanks guys! You guys really made valentine's day so special =D and i am missing you guys so much on this very day.

Anyway, this year i kinda celebrated it with sis,nigel and jenny. Cos i was chatting wf jenny the day before and she said she was bored and needed to get out from the house. so i invited her to our swan valley and ikea trip on valentine's day. First stop: the Grapes shop. The greedy nigel bought 4kg of grapes for his big stomach! Second stop: Margret River's Chocolate Factory. In you're wondering, we didnt go to Margret River. This factory is in Swan Valley and yeah its the same as the one in Margret River. Free chocolates! My favourite chocolate is white chocolate although its the most fattening chocolate among the 3; dark, milk and white. Bcos i remember visiting a chocolate factory in some part of malaysia and they said its made of the oil in the cocoa.

Fourth stop : Ikea. Lunch-swedish meatball. At first, 3 plates shared by the 4 of us. but after eating, greedy nigel wanted more so he ordered another plate. haha. Sis needed to get shoe racks. So we walked the whole ikea but bought only 4 shoe racks. Jus walking around for fun.

Last stop : Home. haha. Yeah, we came home afterthat. Then, me and jenny sat in my room and chat for quite some time until we felt bored and took a long walk in uwa.

Orientation

Hey guys, this is University of Western Australia; uwa in short, my uni for the next 3 or 4 years. For more information, pls visit http://www.uwa.edu.au/university

Anyway, the international orientation started on the 11 feb 2009 where we gathering outside winthrop hall at 0845. There we collected our Orientation folder and Programmes for the day. Inside the folder, there were lots of things such as a whole stack of buses and trains' timetable, visitor's map, campus security pamplet, guide of undergraduate Intenational Students 2009, our unit worksheet, oshc worldcare pamplet and lots more. After i got my folder, i met up wf jer,brenda,li wei, ju and bowie. So basically my whole gang was there except kiat. He's the odd one.haha. Anyway, other den my friends, I saw lots of familiar faces there, obviously ppl from canning college 2008. Oliver, Edward, Liz, John Chua, John Poh, Chia Hsin, Ansley, Santhia, Sophia, Huang, Kenneth, Kara, Jason, chipmunk *haha..i forgot her real name..sorry* and lots of april start students.

At 0915, we all went into Octagon Theatre from our welcoming sessions. As usual, there were lots of boring talks. Not suprising to know that there were lots of Malaysians and Singaporeans there. After all the boring talks, it was morning tea break. They serve biscuits and drinks outside the theatre and we gathered in our own groups. I was in Science 3. We had a little chat and off we went into Octagon Theatre for another briefing. It was still boring. haha. After that, it was again group discussion. At first, i was so glad when a woman announced that we could stay inside the building bcos it was freaking 40 degrees celcius outside. However, my group leader didnt care and he suggested that he will bring us to the river to have a better scenary. No offense, but it was freaking hot out there, ok?

We had some ice breakers durign our group discussion where i met taufiq(singaporean-science foundation), yi hong (Malaysian-honours' degree), thomas (vietnamese), Serene (South Korean-biomed) , an pakistan guy, a Singaporean who hates army so much =p, a 16 yrs old Russian gal who going to study psychology and most of them, i have already forgotten their names. I might remember them if i see their faces. Sorry guys=( Anyway, after our group discussion. It was time for lunch! Yeah, i was kinda hungry already since i onli ate 2 pieces of bread in the morning. We went over to trinity college for free lunch.

Ta Dah! It wasnt much though cos i got hungry again after a few hours. After lunch, it was our pre-enrolment sessions which our Faculty advisors. On our way there, i saw jer,brenda and sophia. Guess wat? they were lost. haha. that's funny. Yeah, i admit uwa is freaking big escpecially with lots of gardens and large fields. After the pre-enrolment session thingy, it was time to go home. Yeah, i was so glad cos i was so tired and hot. Its super duper hot here but the main problem that is we cant sweat! Sweating might be a good thing when its 40 degrees although it might smell a bit but it helps to keep our body cool. Went home, slept, wake up, had dinner,watched bride wars, waited for sis and nigel to come back from work and slept.

12 feb : It was enrolment day. Sis and nigel got up super early bcos nigel had exams and sis had work in vic hs. I woke up at aorund 8 sumthing and sat in front of the laptop trying to see what's inside the handbook cd they came us yesterday. After looking here and there, i was trying to figure what units was i going to take for this year, but mainly sem 1. I look around for a few another options and made a few decisions. At 1100, i heat up my prepared lunch and eat while finish watching the curious case of benjamin button. Took a shower and got ready to go to uni to enrol my units.

I got there half an hour earlier but the ppl there asked me to go in anyway. So i went in, not long afterthat, the advisor called me to join the other gal who was with him already. I guessed he must be tired repeating the same thing over and over again for the whole entire morning. he advised us on our units and we decided on whats units to get. I m actually taking the same units as the gal beside me. Btw her name is Ash. Well for sem 1, i will be studying human biology I, biological organic chemistry, calculas B and Java programming. Bcos i didnt want to do physics or another bio so i chose computer science and i hope i wouldnt be too difficult since i have learnt some of it before last year.

It was indeed a hectic day. After we decided on wat units to take. We have to photostat our passport,certified it,run down to the maths lab, enrol it, come back to get our photos taken, took our student cards, went to the computing lab to online register our classes. I did all this from 1300 to 1630. Plus lots of lining up and waiting. After all this, i took a bus from uwa to vic hs to meet up wf sis. We went to carousel to shop for a dress. Nigel's fren is getting married this coming sunday. We had pretzo and kfc for dinner. While i was in vic hs, i went over to my beloved unit 33 and chat with michelle til it was time to go home. =) Today, i m rotting at home while sis and nigel when to work in vic. haha.

Today, big disappointment when i woke up. I was really excited to go to college today.i dunno y but i was looking forward to it, mayb i haven been really bored staying at home for the last few days besides going to church on sunday morning. Anyway, the big disappointment was the girl that wanted to buy my calculator didnt have enough cash and the atm had some problem. So yeah, i couldnt meet up with her today. Anyway, i meeting her tomoro. (hopefully) This time i don have to take the public transport. Nigel and sis is also going to vic hs tomoro so i get a free ride to college.hehe. Damn syok. =)

Hmm, what i did today?4 hours straight of computer games while sis was at work. had lunch. Rearrange the food cupboard and gosh there is so much food that might last us for a very very long time. For example, there are 7 packets of pasta,4 opened and 3 brand new; 12 bottles of pasta sauce *ehem, you might thinking that we are crazy,right? but it was on sales $1.50 each, the cheapest anyone can find* ; 15 packets of instant pasta *another crazy case. this wan can last very long,ok?* and lots more.............................................................When sis said that she wanted to eat angel hair spagehti, we told it would end of the year before we could start buying pasta again.haha..

From 1700-2100, i was sitting in front of the computer preparing things for uni. Wel, it was all ju's fault hor..asking me to prepare a timetable before going for orientation so i will teach her how to do wor..Anyway, i kinda did mine already but not really sure one la..agar agar onli..Suddenly, i dun feel so excited abt uni anymore. Walau eh, i got 25 hours of classes per week i think. Sis only got 12 hours per week. This is so not fair! Mine is double hers. I m going to faint already. I have no more chance of working part time already la. After attending all the classes, i might be even too tired to breathe already.haiyoyo...

Conclusion: now, i am going to main puas puas before entering uni! Arghh....


Btw, since it is passed 12 already. I would lik give a shout out.

hey gal, sorry i didnt really get to spend time wf u when i was back in msia. Yes, i agree last year i was busy busy busy. Wasnt really in alor star oso. I think i spent most of my time in kl. Anyway, i miss u lots. Take good care of urself,k? And study hard for ur pmr this year. Gambateh! See u end of this year=)

Btw, hephzibah is kinda my little sis who has been a really good fren to me when i was in form4 and form5. At that time, all my older frens in youth are slowing leaving us for further studies. As they were leaving, i was sad loosing them but i was also glad that i have made a very good fren which this pretty little gal, hephzi. She is cute, loving, funny and has a passion for Christ. I ll tell u something that i lik abt her and i have learnt lots from her in this special area. She didnt have much music background but with lizzie's help she was able to learn how to play the drums. She really have to courage to play in front of many people even though her skills wasnt all that perfect. But you know wat? God doesnt look at how well we play but He looks at our hearts. And I believe that she has a really BIG heart for God although she is so skinny on the outside =p I used to be a person who is very afraid to go on stage bcos of what others might think of me.Bcos of her, i m no longer afraid to go on stage and be myself. Thanks a lot for the great tip! haha=)

Lasagna

During my shopping trip on thursday and as i was walking passed the meat section, i had this very strong desire of eating lasagna. Since, it was quite expensive and i know sis would let me buy it. I tot to myslef, mayb we should try making it ourselves. So we bought all the ingredients in a cheaper version. Instead of using pasta sauce or tomato puree, we bought the normal crushed tomato with herbs in a can. Wel, pasta sauce is made up of tomatoes, herbs, salt and pepper. Since it already had herbs, jus add salt and pepper for taste. haha. Smart choice i tot.

Ingredients :

1. Pasta sauce~minced beef, mushroom, lasagna sheets, onions, garlics, tomatoes, salt, pepper, herbs and olive oil.

2. Cheese sauce~cheese, plain flour, milk, butter

3. Topping~Cheese

i cant really give u guys the exact amount cos i didnt follow the measurements on the box. I did it my way. haha.

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees celcius and bake it for 25minutes with foil. Remove foil, increased temperature to 200 degrees celcius and bake it for another 15 minutes.Here's the outcome:

Looks and taste delicious. However, it wasnt perfect. Hope to make some improvement the next time i make lasagna=)

Btw, today someone called me to ask abt my calculator..hehe..I was showing off to kiat that someone wanted to buy my calculator even though he said it was expensive.. but he was right, that person didnt read the model correctly.I called her to tell her that my calculator was the old model and hope that she wouldnt mind. Cos i dun wanna travel all the way to college and later know that she didnt want to buy it. in the end,she said ok bcos her lecturer wants everybody to have a calculator by monday. Anyway, hoping to get back my calculator from Kiat tomoro and passed it to the gal on Monday morning by 1205.

I watched 5 episodes of gossip girl in the evening when sis and nigel went off to work and i had to stay at home alone for 5 hours. Anyway, i was so happy to see that dan and serena finally got back together after so long. But dang! they spilt up in the end. And walau eh, after a few hours they broke up, stupid dan got into another relationship with an older woman,serena's high school teahcer. hmm...'dan and older woman?'..sounds so familiar eh?mayb the director read my blog and find it very interstering so he turned it into his script?hahahaha=p.....i know i m daydreaming la and i know its just a drama but i get so frustrated when i see them doing stupid things that they will sure to end up regretting for what they have done. Foolish teenagers! So you see, its quite a good drama series bcos it gets on my nerves..=)
